Member Spotlight: Nicole Hagestad
Nicole started her first community garden plot at the age of ten. In her spare time, she distributes surplus produce to the local community in and around South King County-Pacific and Algona. As a new Slow Food Seattle board member, Nicole would like to promote "abundance awareness" to solve issues around food and justice.

SFS: What are your favorite spices?
NH: Pepper
SFS: How did you first learn about Slow Food?
NH: An article on the nexus of food and social justice was enlightening, led me to the organization.
SFS: What do you do to embody Slow Food in your daily life (career, home, hobbies, etc)?
NH: I love sharing produce, helping others establish and care for gardens.
SFS: What is your favorite dish or food that has profound meaning for you and why?
NH: Shrimp and okra-it's a dish from my native Texas Gulf Coast town that takes me back to early childhood.
