The Seattle Learning Garden Network (SLGN) brings together teachers, garden educators and coordinators, parents and families, and community members that educate in and tend outdoor learning spaces across the Puget Sound. The Winter Workshop offers an opportunity for participants to learn, share, network, improve their practices to support sustainable outdoor classroom program development. These outdoor learning spaces on or off schoolyards might include stormwater gardens, urban forests/trees, permaculture and restoration spaces, wetlands, pollinator and native gardens, and, of course, food gardens.
We will begin at 8:30 with complimentary coffee, pastries and time for you to make connections at our resource tables. Booths hosted by local nonprofit organizations will provide ideas, support and resources to start or improve your school or community outdoor learning spaces. The schedule will continue with a keynote speaker, complimentary lunch, break-out sessions and networking opportunities. Stay tuned for more details.
